The department of commerce made its humble beginning in the year 1984.Prior to this the commerce education was not provided to the rural mass at an affordable cost. The vision of the department is to impart quality higher education to the students of this locality in the field of commerce and Management. The department started with just 18 students and currently there are about 600 students. There has been gradually increase in the students strength from year to year. During the current academic year alone as many as 280 students have been admitted to I B.com.The level of intake has been raised frequently.

The vision of providing Management education was fulfilled with the introduction of BBM course in 2006.The department with the co-operation of the principal took initiative in launching BBM course. The number of students pursuing management education has increased from 40 students in 2006 to 140 students in 2010. BBM course has become the course of the moment.

The department is now an amalgam of B.com and BBM courses. These are the only courses which are alive to-day as they are catering to the needs of present generation. There is a great demand for these courses at present. The capacity building in the department is going on constantly. Massive expansion of the department has taken place in the last 25 years. Further expansion will take place in ensuing years. The department is known for its discipline and has become a model department in the arena of commerce and Management education. It has a blend of experienced and young teaching faculty. The teachers are self motivated and committed to their noble teaching profession. They are showing a lot of concern to the students.
