It has been more than 20 years since NSS unit was opened in the college. The NSS unit has 100 volunteers comprising of both boys and girls. The NSS unit is in the forefront in organizing extension and extra-curricular activities. The students can join NSS on voluntary basis. But preference will be given to the students of second and third year. NSS activities are funded by Bangalore University and the Programmes will be organized as per the guidelines of the University. A special camp will be conducted once every year in remote village in which 50 volunteers will participate. Regular camps are also conducted by involving volunteers. In addition to that weekly camps would also be organised.The NSS unit in this college is very active. The duration of NSS for each volunteer is two years. A certificate will be issued to each volunteer by the Co-coordinator for NSS of University after completion of two years. The NSS unit is represented by Prof. Mahesh R . The NSS unit of the college is known for holding blood donation camps. NSS volunteers come for ward in donating blood voluntarily. They also motivate non-NSS volunteers to donate blood. The blood collected is being supplied to the poor patients in Government hospital. The NSS unit is also taking lead in campus development. The students can learn leadership skills and develop their personality through NSS. |
